Back in July 2021, the Plei App continued its expansion efforts, stepping foot for the first time in our 6th market, DMV. 🦅 On the 20th of that month, we announced our partnership with Airpark Soccerplex, hence becoming the first facility in the Old Line State to hold Plei games! It has been over a year since then, and we are looking forward to continuing hosting games there for many more years to come. As part of our new blog series, we will be highlighting all of our partner facilities in every region where Plei has touched down. 🛬
Located 40 miles southwest of Baltimore in a town called Gaithersburg, Airpark Soccerplex is easily one of Maryland’s premiere venues for pickup soccer. Especially if you love the color red.
This facility features two high-quality turf fields best suited for 5v5, 4v4 and 3v3 play. Both fields are blocked off by black-painted walls, so the ball doesn’t go out! Each field is also equipped with a scoreboard.
Plei App games at Airpark happen Monday through Friday from 5pm to 10pm and Saturday and Sunday from 7pm to 8pm.
Airpark has a spacious lounge area with tables, seating, a concession stand, TVs showing the latest games and sports news and a glass wall view of the turf fields. The concession stand is decorated with scarfs of various real-world clubs and countries, which really adds to the beautiful game experience here.
In this same space you’ll find a merch store, featuring exclusive Airpark-branded tees, miscellaneous sports gear, as well as authentic jerseys of different teams around the world. We also couldn’t help but mention the fact that the Plei App logo is now stamped on the sleeves of Airpark short-sleeve shirts! 😍
Local UPSL club Germantown City FC calls Airpark Soccerplex home and uses their facilities for training purposes. Youth club Real Elite FC also trains at Airpark. Their team banners are decorated all along the walls of the turf fields!
Field rentals are available at this Gaithersburg facility seven days a week, and various time slots are offered throughout each day.
