Update on reopening the Plei App
Sep 4, 2020
Hello to the Plei Family! We’ve missed you all so much. At the beginning of 2020, we were so excited to go into the year with big goals and plans for our community. However, life had other plans and since March we’ve been closed, anxiously awaiting the day to reopen the Plei App. As of September 2020, we’re still in the midst of the global pandemic, and we’ve been hard at work with our team to make sure that once we do return, we can provide you, our community, with a seamless experience connecting with others and playing the sport we love.
Our #1 priority above all has always been the safety and well-being of our players, and as much as we’ve been wanting to open, we will only do so not only when we are allowed to by local officials and when the safety of our players is not put at risk. Below we highlight some updates when it comes to when and how we plan to reopen in the markets we serve
Great news for our Houston Community! We will be reopening the Plei App this Monday, September 7th. All of our partner facilities are up and running, and we’ve been working closely with each of them to ensure that protocols and guidelines are put in place to ensure the safety of our community. Each facility’s protocols can be found in the ‘Event Details’ of the game. Additionally, we have laid out guidelines of our own, which can be found in our waiver by clicking on the following link: https://www.plei.app/covid-19-waiver
This waiver will also be found whenever a player joins a game. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 cases in the area, and if there is a spike we may have to close again. However, for now we will be returning to the field on September 7th, and cannot wait to see you all out there!
Our home base, South Florida, has been hit hard the past few months with COVID-19. We’ve been working together with our partner facilities and city officials to determine when is the right time to reopen. We have gotten word that our industry will be given the OK to reopen during Phase 3 of the county’s reopening plan. We are currently in Phase 1, and so unfortunately we still will not be able to open up. We will continue to monitor the situation on a week-to-week basis, and will open once we are given the OK and feel that it is safe to do so. South Florida is our home, and we want nothing more than to serve all of you. It’s hard for us to make the decision to not open yet, however we know that in the long run everything will come back to normal and we will all come back stronger than ever. We will provide you all another update once we have one.
I want to thank all of you for supporting us during this time. Your messages about how much you’ve missed playing the beautiful game, and constantly asking when we will be back is a testament to the community we’ve built. We know everyone is itching to get back on the field, just like are we. We will continue to work to ensure that once everything does come back to normal you can have the best possible experience using the Plei App. It’s all for the love of the game the love for our community.
See you soon
