In June 2021, the Plei App expanded into our 5th City, Dallas, Texas 🤠. Since August 2021, we have been hosting pickup games at Crossbar, and we are looking forward to continuing doing so for many years to come. As part of our new blog series, we will be highlighting all of our partner facilities in every region where Plei has touched down. 🛬
Crossbar Soccer + Beer opened its doors in June of 2021 and has since been a fresh face in the pickup soccer department of Dallas-Ft. Worth.
Sometimes simple is best. But simple plus all the goodies and coolness of what it means to be a soccer fan is even better. At Crossbar, you’ll find two quality turf fields suited for 5v5 or 6v6 games. There are also replacement mini-nets so you can play more fast-paced games of 3v3 or 4v4. And the cherry on top, the two fields can be combined to play a larger 7v7, 8v8 or even a 9v9 game!
You can catch the biggest live soccer games at one of Crossbar’s special watch parties, where you’ll watch the match directly on the turf on a projector screen.
Crossbar sees many Highlands residents going in and out of the facility on a weekly basis, so it only makes sense that they were founded by Lake Highlands High graduate Preston Osborn and his wife, Chelsea, who co-own the business with partners Tyler Watterson and Ben Bauer.
You may be asking yourself, so what about the beer aspect of Crossbar? Assuming you’re 21 or older, we’re glad to tell you! There is an easy access bar inside the facility, paired with multiple TVs broadcasting world soccer games, real-time pickup games and sports news channels. The bar offers only the best Texas pours. including a rotating list of ales, ciders and IPAs. More than 50 beers are offered – all from Texas breweries. If you’re a local, you won’t be disappointed at their selection. You can also buy snacks and other drinks as well and then relax at one of the many tables around the venue.
But what’s the story behind including beer in the whole business model? Simply put, Chelsea and Preston are beer lovers, even getting married in a brewery, as fate would have it. It’s amazing how things just work out, don’t they?
At Crossbar you’ll have plenty of ways to kick back or kick around. 5v5 open pickup soccer is happening every night 7 days a week, which you can read more about on their website. Put together your own team and participate in a league, open to men and women! Crossbar also hosts FIFA tournaments, so grab your controller and show off your skills!
Overall, Crossbar Dallas aims to create the ultimate, hybrid environment for soccer fans and players alike. Every experiential area of the pickup facility is focused on quality. With competitive league play, a wide variety of beverages behind the bar and, of course, the incredible community, it’s hard to not stick around.
