In October 2023, the Plei App expanded into our 16th City, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. 🔔 One of the pickup facilities that we have partnered with in the region is Hunter Soccer Club! Located within Penbryn Township Park is a large turf field area that belongs to Hunter Soccer Club, a youth soccer organization that has been serving the people of Glenside and surrounding neighborhoods since 1962. 😳
Your eyes aren’t deceiving you, this club has been around for 60+ years and has yet to slow down. ⚡

The pitch that you see in the photos is known as the Ralph Bocchino Turf Field, the latest addition to Hunter Soccer Club at Penbryn Township Park. Fully equipped with professional lighting and state-of-the-art grass turf, the field features a full-size 9v9 field which can be split to make two (2) separate 7v7 fields. 🌿
A bit of a quick history lesson: the field was named after Hunter SC’s president emeritus Ralph Bocchino, who has dedicated his entire life to serving the club and all the families that are a part of it. 👨👩👧👦
The Ralph Bocchino Field was completed in September 2021 and is available for rental purposes year-round. 🗓️
Hunter Soccer Club is known for their many programs tailored to the development of local talent starting from a young age. 👶
One of these programs is travel soccer, a competitive youth system designed for players who have an advanced knowledge, high skill level as well as a strong passion for the beautiful game. ❤️🔥
Hunter offers Travel opportunities as early as U9 and as late as U18. 👌
What they’re best known for, though, is the Ed Clark Summer Camp, which has been running for over 40 years. Participants learn the fundamentals of the beautiful game at their own pace, while being coached using a blend of training techniques from around the world, including US Soccer, NSCAA, USSF, and the English and Scottish FA. 🌎
Over 1400 youth players and 600+ families make up Hunter Soccer Club, a testament to the growth of the beautiful game in a town with a humble population of 7,237. 🔢
The Plei App first hosted a pickup game at Hunter Soccer Club on December 8, 2023, and we continue to play here today.
