Back in July 2021, the Plei App continued its expansion efforts, stepping foot for the first time in our 6th market, DMV. 🦅 Since June 2023, we have been hosting pickup games at Soccer Dome, and we are looking forward to continuing doing so for many years to come. As part of our new blog series, we will be highlighting all of our partner facilities in every region where Plei has touched down. 🛬
And with two fascinating locations in the Greater Baltimore area (both just a 13-minute drive from each other!), there’s not much stopping them from being the leaders in the Maryland pickup soccer scene. 🥇
At Soccer Dome’s first location in Jessup, (known as Soccer Dome I or SD1 for short), you’ll find just about everything you need to enjoy a day of footy precisely to your liking. Featuring three (3) turf fields, two being for 9v9 and the other for 5v5, this particular venue does its best to put versatility first. 😎
Each field is equipped with only the highest-quality turf as well as netted goals rather than the built-in goals into walls that you may often see at many pickup soccer facilities. Scoreboards installed on the walls create a sense of authenticity that sometimes can be hard to come by. 💯
Did we mention the whole building being fully air-conditioned with multiple industrial fans placed on the corridor separating the 5v5 and 9v9 fields? ❄️
Spectators can catch the ongoing action by sitting at any of the available bleachers and picnic-style tables located in the aforementioned corridor as well as on the far side of the facility in a sort of social space. 🪑
The best part? You don’t even have to come here to watch pickup soccer if you don’t want to. TVs are installed in multiple spots around this area, so you can always catch the big game here. 📺
While you're in this zone, go ahead and grab yourself a snack or drink! A convenient on-site concessions stand ensures both players and spectators can stay energized and stay for a good time, or a long time if they so desire. Drink options include water, Gatorade, juice and even beer for 21+ guests. 🍻
Gear is also available for purchase at this station in case you need to restock on things like socks, shin guards, tape or a brand new ball. ⚽
Being such a versatile facility, it’s not surprising that Soccer Dome offers plenty of programming for both adults and kids. No matter your age or skill level, passionate players aiming to step up their game can look forward to tournaments, clinics, camps and leagues that happen year-round. As a bonus, drop-in play is available Monday thru Friday. 📆
SD1 is also happy to allow both field rentals and the ability to host group events, whether it’s a birthday party, corporate gathering or just a good time with some friends and family.
