Back in July 2021, the Plei App continued its expansion efforts, stepping foot for the first time in our 6th market, The DMV. 🦅 Since June 2023, we have been hosting pickup games at Soccer Dome II, and we are looking forward to continuing doing so for many years to come. As part of our new blog series, we will be highlighting all of our partner facilities in every region where Plei has touched down. 🛬
And with two fascinating locations in the Greater Baltimore area (both just a 13-minute drive from each other!), there’s not much stopping them from being the leaders in the Maryland pickup soccer scene. 🥇
Truth be told, there isn’t too much that’s different between both Soccerdome locations, besides the fact that SD1 offers 9v9 and 5v5 while SD2 has fields for 7v7 and 4v4. Other than that, the two facilities are dashingly similar in terms of structure and design. If there’s any positive out of this, it’s that it actually makes it uniquely Soccer Dome, so you can feel that you’re in a familiar setting regardless of which venue you choose. 💯
At Soccer Dome’s second location in Harmans, you’ll find a total of three (3) fields, with two of them suited for 7v7, and the other for 4v4 play. Prepare to be amazed as you step onto these fields, as each is equipped with high-quality turf.. What sets the venue apart is its classic netted goals, which helps to almost mimic an outside playing experience while being indoors. 👌
Scoreboards installed on the walls will enhance the authenticity of the game here, adding another layer of excitement, so players can keep track of those extra-competitive pickup games.
The entire building is fully air-conditioned, ensuring comfort no matter the time of year or climate. ☀️🌨️
As a spectator, you can immerse yourself in the ongoing action from the comfort of the available bleachers and picnic-style tables located along the fields and a designated social space on the far side of the facility. It’s really up to you how you choose to spend your time at SD2. ⌚
If you’re coming from our blog on Soccer Dome I in Jessup, you know that they aren’t just about pickup soccer. Multiple TVs installed in various spots around the facility allow you to catch the latest live sports action while you're here. This also makes a great opportunity for watch parties. 📺
In this same space, you’ll find a food station that sells everything from water, Gatorade and even beer to chips, hot dogs, pizza and plenty more. Don’t forget to fuel up, especially if you’re on that field! 😅
